June 7 2016 The Topeka Train Robbers rallied from an early deficit to defeat the Salina Stockade 6-4 at Bettis Complex. Topeka trailed 4-0 after three innings but scored three runs in the fourth and another in the fifth to pull within one before taking the lead with two runs in the seventh. Topeka finished with six runs on six hits and committed no errors while Salina collected 13 hits and made two errors.
C. Scura hit a home run for Topeka and scored once while contributing one RBI.
Cody Ellis drove in two runs, and
Gabriel Acevedo and
Ian Horne each added an RBI. Salina’s
Jean Carlos Peralta had two hits and two RBIs, while
Morgan Blatnik went 3-for-5 and
CJ Epperson went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
John De Leon earned the win for Topeka by allowing one hit and striking out three in two scoreless innings.
Logan Truex worked a scoreless ninth for the save.
David Contreras started for Topeka and allowed four runs on 10 hits in five innings. Salina starter
Tim Blackmon struck out six but surrendered four runs in 4 2/3 innings, and
Skyler Fuss took the loss after allowing two runs in 1 2/3 innings.
